About Us

Paragon began in 2005 when two determined construction professionals—one, a formally trained engineer of Native-American heritage, and the other, a military veteran with Mexican-American roots and a legacy of entrepreneurship—laid out a vision on a napkin in a Summerville diner. Their shared goal was to deliver first-time quality work that surpassed client expectations and set a new standard in construction integrity.

What started as a bold idea quickly evolved into a multi-divisional enterprise with strengths in site construction, development, transport, and mining. But when the 2008 economic downturn disrupted the industry, Paragon made the strategic decision to return to its core: site work construction. The company restructured, refined operations, and emerged leaner, stronger, and more focused than ever before.

Today, Paragon operates as a key division of Black Diamond Industries, a locally owned parent company based in Summerville, SC. With over 80 employees, Paragon maintains federal project partnerships—including with Homeland Security and U.S. military installations—while also serving regional development and infrastructure needs across the state.
